This is the story of a little girl and her adventures. Rowena is always cooking up something that gets her into trouble. As her father and mother continue to try to get her to behave more like a proper young lady, they are continually disappointed and angered by her antics. Even when she is punished by the removing of some of her privileges, she still finds a way to have fun.
In the end as she begins to mature in her thinking and gives up something she really wants in order to raise money to surprise her mother with a dishwasher, her sisters and father realize it is OK for her to be a tomboy. Read about her adventures and discover her secret and the surprise ending where she fools her family and friends and even the town sheriff.
